Student Registration & Enrollment

 

Returning Students – Registration: MV parents/guardians in Family 1 of Skyward need to register ALL returning students through their Skyward Family Access account starting on July 15. It is essential that registration be completed prior to the first day of school. (Students who attended Mini-Marauder Preschool and will be entering kindergarten in 2026-2027, as well as returning out-of-district/transfer students, must also complete registration.)


New Students – Enrollment: Current MV families enrolling a new student can do so by selecting “New Student” in their Skyward Family Access. All families NEW to the district will need to complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application at bit.ly/MVNewStudent, including the new out-of-district/ transfer students who received a provisional acceptance email. Families can upload documentation (birth certificate, driver’s license, proof of residency, immunization records, etc.) See MtVernonSchools.org/Enrollment for details or

School Fees

EFunds (MVCSC’S Online Payment System): Parents/guardians may deposit funds into their child’s lunch account through EFunds on the website. Use EFunds to conveniently pay for lunch, consumable fees, or other school fees. Please ensure your child’s account maintains a positive balance.

  • Preschool, elementary, and middle school supply lists are linked on each school’s website under the “Parents” dropdown. MVHS supplies vary per class/teacher and will be shared with students on the first day of school.

    Class schedules and homeroom assignments will be available in Skyward just prior to each school’s Back- to-School or Open House event; however, MVHS schedules will be released on July 23, one week before MVHS New Student Orientation.

  • • On Early Release Wednesdays, the school day is shortened by 45 minutes for staff collaboration and professional development time.
    • The first Early Release Wednesday will be August 12, and the last will be May 19.
    • If a Two-Hour Delay is called on a Wednesday, it will become a regular release (no Early Release Wednesday).
    • Buses will run their regular afternoon routes 45 minutes earlier on Early Release Wednesdays.
    • Mini-Marauder Preschool does not participate in Early Release Wednesdays.

  • Bus stop pick-up times: Bus routes will be posted on the transportation webpage a few days prior to the start of school. On the first day
    of school, students should be waiting at their bus stop 10 minutes early. Approximate pick-up times with bus number and driver will be set within a few days of the start of school and posted on MtVernonSchools.org/Transportation. To see bus stops in relation to your address, visit bit.ly/MVBusMap.

    Stopfinder App: Bus number, pick-up/drop-off times, and bus stop location details will be available through the Transfinder Stopfinder app once they are assigned. This app allows parents/guardians to track their child’s bus location in real time. Please note that the app can only be downloaded after receiving an invitation, which will be sent out in late July.

    Bus Changes: Please allow 48 hours to process bus changes.
    No Same Day Changes.
    Out-of-District/Transfer Students’ Transportation: This is a reminder that there will be no bus transportation for any out-of-district student in 2026-2027.

    Drop-Off / Pick-Up Car Rider Information: Visit the “Parents” tab on each school’s website for drop-off and pick-up procedures.
    MVIS/MVMS or MVHS/MVMS Morning Car Riders – If a parent/guardian has students attending the intermediate and
    middle school, or students attending the high school and middle school, enter the high school drop-off line in the morning, and the middle school student can get on the middle school shuttle bus to arrive at school on time.

  • Parents/guardians will receive communication through ParentSquare using the emails and phone numbers listed in Skyward Family Access. Parents/guardians are highly encouraged to download the free ParentSquare app using their email listed in Skyward and personalize their notification settings.   • Consumable fees cover materials students use during coursework, such as clay, paint, sheet music, science lab supplies, PLTW project materials, and other hands-on classroom resources, but do not include textbooks. These materials are used directly by students and cannot be reused from year to year. The consumable fee for each course is posted under the “Parents” tab on each school’s website.

  • Daily Lunch Cost 2026-27:
    Preschool: $3.60                                                          Elementary: $3.60
    Intermediate: $3.60                                                      Middle School: $3.70
    High School: $3.70                                                      Reduced Lunch: $0.40
    Milk: $0.50                                                                   Adults/Extra Meal: $4.80


    Daily Breakfast Cost 2026-27:
    Students: $2.25                                                          Reduced Breakfast: $0.30
    Adults/Extra Meal: $2.75


    Payments may be made through EFunds, or by cash or check. Please communicate with your child if they are to eat breakfast and/or lunch. Any child who enters the food line will be charged for their meal.


    Meal Assistance: In 2026-2027, MVCSC will continue to process applications for free and reduced-price meal benefits. This application can be found on/after July 15 through Skyward Family Access by opening the Food Service tab and clicking on Applications.

    Students should wear their ID throughout the day and bring it to the cafeteria. This is for security purposes, as well as helping speed up lunch lines so students have more time to eat.

  • In Skyward, families will be assigned an annual instrument fee for students using school-owned musical instruments. This fee covers repairs, routine maintenance, and professional cleaning to prepare instruments for the next student who uses them. The fee can be conveniently paid online through EFunds.

  • Indiana law requires each child enrolled in school to be completely immunized against communicable diseases. The required vaccinations for the 2026-2027 school year can be found on MtVernonSchools.org/HealthServices. All records must be on file before the child can attend classes. Updated records can be sent to your child’s school or to the corporation nurse by fax at 317-482-4113 or email to Tracy.Furnas@MtVernonSchools.org.
